Chasing Tide (A Merman's Tale And The Human Who Desired Him)
One of the most painful things on earth is to lose a loved one. Whether in death or heartbreak. It's a pain different from all others. You feel every burn, every ache, your senses awaken, and greedily await a memory to sip in and then wreck your entire being. She took everything. His Light. His Heart. His Soul. It had no end. For years it went on like it would never end. But, it did. Just in passing, a normal day, a day like every other, but it was the day, his heart danced truly and his chest tighten as if a fierce wind had passed by, blending with his soul, leaving a suffocating feeling in his chest, a choking sensation in his throat, there was a pressure making it hard to breathe. ******* "My heart has heated for the human and my blood has flown for him. Every time I thought of him, my heart would ache. It would ache so much I couldn't breathe, the feeling of despair, yet sweetness... Even so, I still couldn't stop thinking about him." So...this is how it feels to love a person. "I belong to you, just as this merman belongs to the seas. Like a falling leaf belongs to its roots." "Nothing can stop me from falling into your embrace." ******* ®®Completa
The Gifts of Mortality
The gods have no pity for humans and their impermanence. Why would they care for lives measured in years, when time marches into millennia for them? The immortals stay in their city. The humans remain in their parts of the world. That is until a human terrorist group gains control over the Goddess of Death, forcing her to kill their enemies and increase their power. All immortals keep their backs turned on humanity. Except Samil, the God of Festivals and the Arts. Samil knows he isn't very powerful among his kind. Or important. Or confident. Yet, when he learns that the humans are desperate, he chooses to do a deceptively simple thing: Help them. ___________________________________ @Voyageavecmoi was kind enough to write this review of my book and she described it 100x better than I ever could lol. With her permission, I'm posting it below. Also, check out her book "Flight Risk." It's a sweet and deep romance about two characters negotiating their feelings for each other while life is doing everything to tear them apart. The characters have such mature conversations and, there's no reliance on the miscommunication trope at all. I'm *obsessed.* If you enjoy intriguing fantasy novels with deep and thoughtful themes, check out 'The Gifts of Mortality' by @eleanorkennedy14 . It explores the concept of mortality and how it gives life meaning through the eyes of both gods and humans. The story follows Samil, the god of the Festivals and the Arts, who is shocked by the apathy of his fellow gods when a human terrorist group gains control over the Goddess of Death. Despite finding no support among his kind, he's determined to help the humans, which sets him down an interesting course. There are lots of great twists in this novel, and I also loved seeing how queerness was worked in throughout both the immortal and mortal realms. Samil is a sweet and refreshing character to root for who is determined to see the good in the world.Completa

Always light the candles
We are too drunk and he is too close and even though we are in a room full of people, we are too alone. -------------------------- Notes: This fan fiction is dedicated to people who have experienced loss, people who were bullied, who struggled with their sexuality and or their race. People who use humour as their coping mechanism. People who feel like outcasts and freaks. People who fell in love with their best friends. You are not alone. You are Albus. And this is our story. It is also dedicated to grief, for showing me the true price for love. And most importantly dedicated to my one and only best friend. This story would not have seen the light of day, had our paths not diverged and our friendship not quietly scattered to the winds. In the closing of chapters, I made sure that the echo of our promises that we once held were not just words, but something truly heard. I will never not think of you during storms. Make sure to leave your thoughts and enjoy ;) This story can be also found on Ao3.Completa

*Insert dramatic music* Two best friends, normal, right? Well, not in this case. Love wasn't a thing in either of their lives. But when each other entered, it...was awkward..? A not so innocent blonde and a very outgoing, annoying brunette. Stuck between, just friends, or each other's love interests. What will they do? Will boys get in the way, or were they always meant for each other... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Avery and I were walking the field, talking to each other, or should I say just her talking and me listening. We walk past this tree, and then she stops. "Wait! Can we sit under this tree? It's kinda hot, and also, I'm getting lazy." I smile at her. "Of course!" I say, going under the tree and sitting down. She walks over as well, I pull my hand out to help her, she takes it and sits next to me. "Wow, such a gentleman," she mocks. I laugh at her joke. I love that she makes me smile.Completa

The Fire in the Wind // Book One (Complete)
In a world of gods, pirates, and blessings, Phoenix Finch lives in a small coastal town secluded from the rest of the world. In a town that values rules, traditions, and law above all else, Phoenix has never known of anything else. When he is both rescued and kidnapped by the most fearsome pirate of them all, Nico Maheras, The West Wind, he is brought into a world so unlike his own. Scared and alone, he lashes out, and the captain lashes right back. As he is introduced to more and more of the crew, he finds that maybe, Pirates aren't as bad as he thought, and maybe the captain isn't as scary as he seems. He begins to settle into the ship, finding friendship and freedom. But when his sister is kidnapped by Redcoats for her blessing, he must take action and save her along with his new friends. But Phoenix will soon find out there is more to himself, the captain, and this story, than it seems. - - - This is the first draft of my novel, which took about a year to write. As such, this is somewhat unedited, and needs improvement. Constructive criticism is both wanted and appreciated. I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoyed writing it. Cover is mine, made with AutoDesk Sketchbook and BeFunky photo editor. - - - - Content warnings: Kidnapping, Violence, Cursing, Fighting, Torture, Death, mentions of past s*xual assault, and slavery. Please let me know if there's any other warnings that you think should be added! (I swear that makes it sound so much worse than it actually is. This is a lighthearted story about friendship, self discovery, family, and freedom.)Completa
