I wrote a comment implying that I'd write a fanfiction based on a TikTok. I had no real intention of following through until it became clear that people *actually* wanted me to. So here we are!

It proved a lot more difficult than anticipated. I basically had no information to work off of besides the seconds-long TikTok mentioned. I didn't know their names (I had to do some digging for that), I didn't know anything about their personalities beyond what I could pick up from JoyTV (Joland)'s content, and I had no sense of the type of rapport they had together irl.

As a disclaimer, by necessity, most everything written came from my own imagination. This story is 100% fictional. For the more minute details, I drew from my own experiences as Black person and from anecdotes shared online by Black people in Korea. I have never been to Korea and I don't know Joland or his barber. If at any point Joland requests for this to be taken down, it will be.

But in the meantime, enjoy! It was fun to write and I hope you get a kick out of it. But please be nice. I'm a bit rusty but I tried my best! 🥲
