Robert Downey Jr is an English professor who moved to London when he got divorced from his wife after she had an affair. The divorce left Robert feeling like he can not trust anyone, he's hard faced and doesn't put up with no nonsense.

Mercedes is a fun loving caring bubbly 25 year old woman who has worked really hard to be able to put herself through college to become a writer.
