Life is full of challenges, some easier than others. One day, Life comes up with a challenge for Peyton Brooks, a 'normal' and slightly (okay, maybe very) boring girl. Life bet that he could find 100 reasons to cry before she could find 1000 reasons to smile. At first Peyton thought this was going to be a piece of cake, but then she realized that she didn't like cake: in other words, the bet was starting to seem impossible. But, Peyton was yet to learn that nothing can be taken for granted; there are many things to smile about, you just have to open your eyes big enough to see the small things in life. Complete! "You know I really like you, right?" He was definitely drunk. "You do?" I asked. My voice was supposed to be teasing, but I think it came off as a bit startled. He laughed, "Yeah, why else would I trust you with all my secrets?" -- Betty was many things; a romantic, a fashion designer, a bit more jealous than the average girl, great with a camera, a helpful daughter and a good friend. But she was best known for being nice. And usually, the boy did not want the 'nice' girl. But this summer she was going to prove to Mike, her crush since FOREVER, that nice was enough. She was going to have an amazing summer, a perfect Junior year, and finally have her first kiss. It was a foolproof plan. Moving from her childhood home in Arizona to New Mexico at the start of Junior year was never a part of Betty's plan. But sometimes when parents are involved, plans change. So now the nice girl had to start over at a new school in a new State. And when the (maybe not so bad) bad boy, Eli, gets involved, it might be hard to be known as 'the nice girl'.
