The year is 2170, the world has changed a lot after a long war between humanity and the supernatural. When the war ended anyone who showed any signs of any abnormality or opposition to the government was driven away, forced out into the  woodland that had by engulfing the majority of the country. Icarus Goodwin is one of these forest dwellers, a man who is running from his past which is full of mistakes that he doesn't want to ever make again. While on the path to goodness and living his life the way he wishes, an unknown evil strikes small towns and destroys everything in its path. Now it's up to this ex hunter and friends new and old to save the world before it descends into madness and death.

Ilyntalos is the last living major city in what was once the proud United States of America. America was ripped apart by the gods from other worlds who were waging a bloody war on each other. They destroyed everything and killed most of the humans that had once called the States home. As the rubble and dust settle, a group of evil creatures from the other Realms begins to take control of Ilyntalos, forcing the others who call it home to be trapped in squalor. It isn't a life any of these newcomers to Earth would have wanted, but they are grateful to be alive. Icarus Mercury, an elven warlock, has a firm grip on the whole city. He has an enslaved army of refugees from the other Realms. But the people who are trapped are not content with their positions. No, they want freedom. Life. Happiness. Safety. Mercury is a vicious creature, and he wants nothing more than to control every aspect of his city. But there will be a reckoning, and soon, very soon, Mercury will find out what happens when you hurt people who have magick in their veins.
