Zephlarians. Picture a body builder with a reptile face, tail, claws, and skin. Now add in the senses of the top predators and that is kind of like the Zephies. After they showed up and watched our every move, like an eagle eyes a rodent, it was chaos. Some welcomed the alien ship, some hid in bunkers, and some didn't know what to think. We shot first like the idiots we were. The world leaders took a vote to launch a nuke at the mothership. Oops. The aliens didn't like it very much because they shot a beam at the planet. The entire world changed from bright cities, sunny beaches, and vast forests to.... Well, a child's sandbox with puddles. My name is Xatchell and this is my story.

It's been almost a hundred years since Earth's civilizations fell, leaving only ruins and memories. Long before the collapse, they began taking humans, but now, everyone knows who they are and they fear them. The few who manage to return from their captivity tell stories of how these creatures treat humans like animals or children, tending to them like pets or slaves. Becoming Them: A Zombie Novel
What would you do if one second you were struggling to survive with your friends and mother in tow, and then you wake up to find yourself with a group of strangers the next - all during the country's takeover of blood-thirsty zeds? Megan couldn't believe her eyes. Her brain was muddled with confusion she couldn't get rid of, no matter how many times those strangers reassured her and explained what happened. But she had to accept it, even though it didn't make any sense to her. Megan had been with her mother every step of the way since everything turned to chaos, beginning just a year before, and now she was nowhere to be seen. And on top of that, she had the zeds to deal with. Ghastly creatures that used to be human, carrying a virus that's spread through a constant hunger for flesh from the host, spreading through bites and scratches. It didn't exactly make it easy to prevent getting infected. Things could have been worse, though, Megan thought. She could've been left all alone to ponder over her thoughts and fear over the future. It'll only be within the time spent with the new group will she find out that everything's not as happy and welcoming as it had seemed. These people had a few secrets of their own, including the real reason they took Megan in. Everything started in 2036. The pollution was so bad that the end of the world was predicted to be right around the corner. As complete panic set in around the world, the rich and important people were all gathered and placed on giant spaceships with enough resources and room to house generations of human beings. Before they left though, the government leaders fired As a result, most of the human population died off and earth was a complete wasteland. The little that survived started building local communities and trying to survive in the destroyed excuse of a planet. On the disaster of a planet, creatures mutated and were born out of the nuclear chemicals; creating new species and monsters that hunted humans. While hundreds and hundreds of years passed, the monsters kept evolving and the people kept adapting while still trying to keep a sort of community. They didn't want to lose all of their humanity and become nothing more than animals that hunted the monsters: then they would truly be no better than the monsters themselves. So they stayed civil while still doing what it took to survive.Complete

As the trees and its land slowly burn down by he deadly purple acid, a man that was watching from afar shivered at this sight. This has been going on for ages, and the creature hasn't been stopped.
