An account of Kendra Lane's stay in an antique family estate and the ghosts she summons within it, The Abnormal History of Whiting House takes the reader through the story of a young girl with an interest in the supernatural, who invokes the spirits of two deceased young men from the 19th century: Paris Whiting and Earnest Beaumont, a resident of the house and a member of staff respectively. After her monumental discovery, Kendra is challenged with returning the ghosts to the afterlife, avoiding detection from her parents, and keeping track of her charges, while the ghosts have to reconcile their lost lives and their relationships to one another after being pulled from their graves.

In the small, isolated town of Briar Hollow, strange occurrences have begun to unsettle the once peaceful community. People are vanishing without a trace, and those who remain speak of eerie figures lurking in the dark, silent as shadows. The townsfolk are gripped by fear, unwilling to venture out after sunset. At the heart of the mystery is the abandoned Hawthorn Manor, a decaying mansion that has stood untouched on the outskirts of town for decades. Rumors swirl about its dark past, involving a family that mysteriously disappeared many years ago. Now, whispers of a curse draw curious outsiders and thrill-seekers, but none return the same-or at all. When 17-year-old Emily Weaver's best friend goes missing after daring to explore the manor, Emily is determined to uncover the truth. Armed with a mix of skepticism and desperation, she gathers a group of unlikely allies-each with their own reasons for seeking answers. Together, they delve into the chilling history of Hawthorn Manor, uncovering secrets buried deep within the town's history. As they piece together the puzzle, they discover that the manor is not just haunted by spirits of the past, but by an ancient, malevolent force that thrives on fear and darkness. The closer they get to the truth, the more dangerous their journey becomes, as the shadows seem to come alive, watching their every move. In a race against time, Emily and her friends must confront the source of the evil before it consumes them all, forcing them to face their deepest fears and uncover the long-buried secrets that could either save the town-or doom it forever.

Alone in the woods, silence apart from the hissing of the stream, sits the morbid Staunton Plantation House; renowned for being haunted, cursed, and hungry for its next victim who dare enters the threshold. The Cullens scoff at the word 'haunted', for they are the only supernatural beings. Correct? Therefore, they're in for a page-turner when the supposed-to-be-dead mistress from three hundred years prior today, arrives at their new home, causing turbulence in the family, and a fall for Edward. Ghosts, vampires, and a vacuum of life, some would say it is the party for the dead. But how long can the party last when pain, suffer, and a life of agony are around the corner? No music can withstand the sound of screams. No streamers can camouflage the color of heartbreak. All rights of original locations and characters to Stephenie Meyer.
