Die mächtige, aber selbstzerstörerische Spezialität und die regelmäßigen Schläge des Meisters zerstören den Jungen von innen, bis er auf die UA Heldenschule geschickt wird um dort zu spionieren. Es fällt jedoch schnell auf das der fragile Grünschopf an Berührungsängsten und Vertrauensproblemen leidet, da er niemanden an sich ranlässt, die Pausen am liebsten alleine verbringt und nie etwas sagt. Er lernte Zeichensprache und muss hoffen das es wenigstens ein paar Leute verstehen. Er hat Pech und die einzige Person die ihm versteht ist jemand der verborgene Erinnerungen und Gefühle in ihm zum Vorschein bringt. Seine Spezialität? Ein Fluch. Im Kampf mit dem Klassenbesten, Katsuki Bakugo, gewinnt er zwar, zahlt dafür allerdings einen hohen Preis.
