The fan fiction, Surrender, is based off of a book series by Colleen Hoover called 'Hopeless'. However, many parts in Surrender have been altered for the fan fiction while other parts remain magnificently written by Ms. Colleen Hoover. Because of this, I cannot take credit for this piece of work, however, I hope you enjoy my version of her work as much as I enjoyed the original.

Due to her foster mother, Blair Kelley is 16 and has no phone, no internet, and no TV. And did I mention she's home-schooled? Blair finally gets to go to school and meets Harry Styles, a guy with a promiscuous reputation that rivals her own. Something about him sparks memories of her deeply troubled past, a time she’s tried so hard to bury. Though Blair is determined to stay far away from him, the intensity of the bond between them grows. But the mysterious Styles has been keeping secrets of his own, and once they are revealed, Blair is changed forever and her ability to trust may be a casualty of the truth.

"Say something Lou... please. Say something..." "Football and Gay don't go together, Harry. Why can't you understand that I can't give you what you want from me? I... I don't even feel..." he paused. For a fleeting second, I was hopeful. I waited for him to finish the sentence. "I don't feel the same about you, Harry". Louis finally said, his tone mundane. He had his back turned to me so I couldn't read his face when he said this. I wanted to look into his blue eyes when he said this. He's lying. He had to be lying. "Lou please... Look at me, Lou...", I was practically begging him. I felt my chest constrict. I couldn't breathe again. I tried to take deep breaths in, but I couldn't feel air filling up my lungs. "Lou you promised you won't leave... You promised you would always be there for me". Tears were pouring out of my eyes uncontrollably and it blurred my vision. I tried to wipe them off with the back of my hand. I was a mess. When my vision cleared, I could see him starting to walk away. "Don't go Louis. You don't have to love me back, Lou. Just please don't leave. Let's be friends?" A weird prickling feeling was spreading through my body, flowing through my veins. It was numbing my hands, feet, my entire body. I was now on my knees. He was leaving me. My Louis was leaving me. "It hurts Lou. I would rather die than feel this way". ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Harry Styles is spellbound by the blue-eyed football star of Crestwood Academy, Louis Tomlinson. He is happy to finally have found something more entrancing than music and art. Louis Tomlinson finds Harry, the new student, quite intriguing. He's utterly confused with feelings he is sure he has never felt before. The two boys soon become best friends but will they fall truly, madly, deeply in love?

In a quiet coastal town in New England, fifteen-year-old new girl, Bethenny Caldwell, and sixteen-year-old Bar Harbor resident, Harry Styles, become unlikely best friends; two teenagers tethered by circumstance, grief, and the quiet longing for bigger worlds beyond Seabrook Street. Over the next twenty years, they fall in and out of each other's orbits through college and moves, through heartbreaks and near misses, through the milestones that shape who we become. Every time life gives them a chance to choose each other... the timing is just slightly wrong. But they never stop returning to the town that raised them, to the memories neither can outrun, and to the version of love they only ever found in each other. Spanning from 2005 to the present, this is a story about the way people grow and break and rebuild... how grief leaves fingerprints that follow us into adulthood... and how some connections quietly survive the seasons we think will destroy them. a romance born in the wrong moment - again and again - until one day, it isn't.
