Phillip and Rebecca Bishop-Clairmont were always going to be a bit different from the crowd. In a world of Vampires, Witches and Daemons, the hybrid children of the most powerful witch to ever live and a fifteen hundred-year-old vampire were bound to stand out. However, almost two decades after their parent's legendary quest of love and self-discovery, the nineteen-year-old Brightborns are just trying to learn how to be vaguely normal. Though it's hard to show a modicum of normalcy when you can light things on fire with your mind, travel through time and cause hurricanes by accident while masturbating in the shower.
These Mary Sue teenagers are just trying to live a normal early college life of drinking, partying and burning romances while also messing around with abilities many would consider violently unnatural.

A disinherited princess and a kingdom on the verge of ruin. The birth of twins were once a joyous occasion in Vequera but in the year 602 C.E, it was anything but. None knew of her power or what she would do in the future if she became queen, so the throne was given to the second son in hopes he would save their house from possible ruin. What if humans lived alongside witches, vampires, fey, and werewolves? Yeah, they don't though. They're divided into Factiones (no, that isn't a typo, go away Grammarly) by a starburst mountain range that is actually new, relative to the rest of the geology. Then someone dies. Of course. Not original is it? I suppose there's a good reason it always starts with someone dying. Well, being murdered in this particular case. I know, also not very original. But please, bear with me. Basically, the people in power are insane and dangerous. (There are really too many clichés here, aren't there?) And our not-so-normal band of motley heroes have to stop these crazy people. I understand that this is more or less the same plot line as 17% (minimum) of all books on the planet, but seriously, if you want to have a 12-year-old (almost) burn down/melt half a castle, this is your book.
