Born dead, tossed in a metal coffin, reborn as an experiment, Subject RED was destined for great things. Not a child, not a girl, but a weapon.
But what she would become was not a mere resuscitation of life. No, she was transformed, shaped by the hands of those who saw potential in her very existence. A puppet, perhaps, in their grand design, but also something more. A creation of flesh and bone, yes, but also of steel and secrets.
Subject RED was not sweet innocence; that had been extinguished long before her rebirth. Her sweetness was tainted by the darkness that clung to her, a reminder of the life she had left behind, a life that had been snuffed out like a candle in the night. Rotten, in the sense that she had been marred by the hands that had sought to shape her into a tool of power.

HYDRA and the Red Room's most ambitious project yet, their whispers about her were no more than the sweet lullabies of her childhood as she was nursed with their needles, rocked by their punches and weaned on their commands. She would be better then her predecessors. She would be trained, raised and molded to best them in every which way imaginable.
And when she had had completed the last step of the program, she would kill them. Her makers, her progenitors, her parents.
And then, Subject RED would help HYDRA and the Red Room heel the world to their feet.
