Despite the fact that he is chosen, his family has fallen apart ever since he's lost his elder brother: Lancelot. For a few days, he'd been meeting him in the Spirit Realm, and he was warned of the war, and Leo hadn't given up on his desire- Kill the beast that killed his brother.
