At the already trying and turbulent age of thirteen, Shaye, a big, tall girl with frizzy hair and autism spectrum disorder (ASD), notices that the world around her is literally losing its infinity of colors. From her beloved plants to the peers at her school that she has trouble connecting with, everything seems to grow dimmer with each passing day. When Shaye does some investigating and finds that this is a natural occurrence that happens to everyone at around her age, she refuses to accept it. Even though she may not pay much attention to much of the world around her, she is deeply troubled by this phenomenon. As the vast spectrum of colors that used to fill up the world becomes less and less discernible, Shaye must get to the root of the problem with the help of some unlikely allies in her small suburban town, and she has to solve this mystery quickly before she loses her ability to see color forever.
