Starscream didn't want a personal guard. Having someone chauffeuring him around was a big blow to the independence he so desperately craved. His creators were overbearing when it came to his safety and made it nearly impossible for him to do anything by himself.
Unknown to him, this forced pairing would be life-changing. His view of the world will shift and a forbidden romance will begin to blossom within the palace.
