“I hate you.” I spat the words out like venom. He let out a menacing laugh.
“We both know that’s not true, Annabelle.”
I winced and anger built up in my body. He knew everything about me. I was an open book to him, and that’s what terrified me.
“How so?”
A grin grew on his face.
“You love me, but you try so hard to cover that with hatred, it creates- let’s call it- ambivalence.”
