When Sal finds a piece of paper from a century before the current date he is taken aback .He writes back but when a second note appears he starts to think that maybe this mysterious book shelf wasn't placed in his life by accident.
  When he starts school in the heart of New Orleans he meets new friends including  a new boy , a college student named  Larry with red eyes and pale skin. Sal starts to fall for the boy in the shelf his life shifts. As he learns that maybe all his nightmares are real and the monsters that lay in the shadows aren't all bad.Maybe  just maybe he can learn to love the monsters that haunt him .
