It's a fictional story of 1920s. Anirudh is a 19 year's old London returned barrister. He has a dream in his eyes. He want his country (India) to provide the same rights to women which are provided for men. He has opposed many customs and people to fight against cruelty against women, lower and upper caste etc. Bondita on the other hand is a 8 year old girl . Both are against and resist Sati pratha,inequality based on caste and gender, menstrual taboos, child marriage and so many taboos which were common those days.
