Dear Journal,
    I was born normal.  The typical outcast girl with plain brown hair and few talents.  Nothing marked me as special besides a bloody childhood.  My father was murdered when I was six, and my mother when I was fifteen.  These chain of events forced me to move.
    I felt like the most unlucky girl in the world.
    When I reached California where my aunt and uncle resided, things in my normal, sad life spiraled out of control.  My past was uncovered, revealing the reasons for bloodshed and loss.  Even I changed more than I remained the same.  
    I am a dragon.
    But not just any dragon, a dragon-human hybrid.  And there were purist enemies who wanted me dead.  They tried to hide me in a human camp, Nonent.  Now I'm in peril, constantly fearing for my life and that of my family, for my genes have made them targets.  I dunno if I can make it out alive.  Even now I feel watched.  I feel like something bad is going to happen soon.
