Welcome to the Academy of the Fantastical Mystics! A gothic learning institution dedicated to mastering the art of magic and adventure!
That would entice 11-year-old Harriet Jinjur, but seeing as she's the survivor of a magic-based home invasion that took her parents from her and gave her this insatiable curse (and a permanent cowlick,) she's not too thrilled to be whisked away from the orphanage she has grown accustomed to.
And then, there's the whole business of being the Chosen One destined to fight a great evil that threatens this school, which doesn't suit her either.
However, the longer she stays, the more she learns the unusual circumstances that plague the newly-reopened Academy and why she's so damn important to begin with. Maybe it has something to do with the new headmaster?
But there's more important things to take care of! Like a wand-on-wand battle with a blond-haired upstart, dealing with a dead sea serpent, exploring the Crimson Catacombs underneath, and learning about her parents and their deal with the Fantastical Mystics.
You know, more important stuff.

Harriet Potter grew up thinking she was just an ordinary girl, then she found out she was a witch. Having Aloysius, Max, and Emmi join her through the forest was the easy part, but once the night has come, the land turns dark and begins to play tricks on the young ones with visions, drinks, and a drive-thru speaker shaped like a pig's head.
