What if the pogues were originally a group of 5, but one of them mysteriously died when they were 15.
After John B and Sarah escape the island and find their way to Nassau they meet up with an old friend who will help them on their journey to get back and clear John B's name.
Logan Pierce, the fifth member of the pogues died when she was 15 almost two years before Big John went missing, Hurricane Agatha, The Gold and the murder of Sheriff Peterkin. Somehow she escaped death, but after all, we know that you can't kill a pogue.
