Hey man, quit it! "
"Nuh uh! I mean you, making the football team? Congrats man!" The Arizona sun is as hot as an open oven. My best friend, Jake, shoves me in a joking manner.
"It was pure luck, what I really wanted was soccer, but football works too" I say, wiping my face with a rag.
We all had to play football today in gym, and the coach picked me for the team, even though we weren't trying out.
"Man, think about it, " he nudges me with his right elbow, "think of all the chicks you'll get." I follow his eyes and stop at the cheerleaders who are giggling in a group.
"It ain't like that man, " I say, nudging him back.
That started it.
He playfully shoved me and I shoved him back. We kept going til he was going to shove me into the wall.
I brace myself for impact. The last thing I heard was Jake calling my name before I landed on something soft.
