When Lily wakes up in WICKED headquarters, she becomes aware for the first time what she has been up against. They remove her powers, leaving her only with her determination and bravery to protect herself.
Her supervisor, Dr Edwards is under the impression that Lily will return to her former duties, helping WICKED to develop blueprints and find a cure for the flare.

Lily knows that it will only be a matter of time before the gladers break out of the Maze. And when they do, she is determined to do whatever it takes to rejoin her friends. Even if they hate her for what she did to them.
But if she manages to escape, her biggest problem will become Newt.
Can he ever forgive her for what she let WICKED do? Will he be able to trust her again? Will they ever be the same?
