Holding her breath, Claudia lay her head down against the ground and willed herself to be somewhere else. Anywhere else. When she had desired more adventure in her life, this was not at all what she meant! While the garden they were in was beautiful, with uniform, perfectly dispersed trees that let the evening sun shine through with a heavenly golden light, and well-kept paths for anyone to walk, Claudia wished she was enjoying the scenery as a visitor, rather than a fugitive.
She could not see Lucius at all from her position, but she could hear him as he moved like a panther through the garden, the rustle of grass his only giveaway. What was he planning to do? Did he have a plan at all?

For a long, long time, the garden remained silent. In fact, Claudia was about ready - nay, desperate - to stand up and look around, when from a distance she heard a shout, the clinking of swords, a terrible 'squish' sound, then nothing at all.

**
Follow the journey of two distinguished members of the Roman Empire, during the time of Christ's ministry on the earth as they discover the true meanings of 'love', and 'sacrifice'...

**
This story switches between two points of view, the switches marked clearly by '***'. This story does not contradict teachings of the Bible, but merely shows the happenings of Jesus' death, burial and resurrection from a different perspective. I hope you enjoy the read, and learn something new about our wonderful God!

*If you enjoyed this book please also read it's short story spin off, 'The Traitor Inside'. Thank you!*

His irises swirled slowly, an enticing pale silver against his stark black lashes. They illuminated slightly, so quick it was gone in a blink. He broke our eye contact, lifting his head straight. A darkly amused expression appeared. It happened so quickly it seemed like a mask appeared. I blinked myself out of my trance, and turned on my heel to see what was at the receiving end of his humor. Augustus stood there. His face contorted into anger as he took in my ruined dress. His hands shook in his fury. "Roman." Augustus nearly snarled the name. "Have you come to join us, little King? The party was just getting started." So his name was Roman, some big secret. I rolled my eyes at the reveal as well as his taunting sentence. "Davina, what is going on here?" Augustus asked, his eyes full of betrayal. I had never seen him so guarded. I could feel his anger through my bones. His words were careful. What was he talking about? My brows furrowed at the insinuation, "What?" A line of smoke floated around my right shoulder and come between Augustus and I. How convenient. I had the desire to swipe it away but didn't. "What can I say, she...seduced me." Roman purred. His voice was a sensual whisper in my left ear. I subconsciously lifted my shoulder and backed away from it. Not only because he had lost his fucking mind, but also because it shot down my spine, caressing my skin. ** This book contains mature content. The Vampire King's Toxic Consort (bxb) by AnUncannyRabbit
87 parts Complete Mature
Lucius, the less favored twin brother of Prophet Julian, was forced into marrying the Vampire Crown Prince Dorian under his brother's name as part of a truce and subsequently fell in love with his enigmatic husband. After helping Dorian claim the throne and become the first human Royal Consort of the vampire kingdom Eternia, Lucius thought he finally had found his perfect fairytale happy ending. However, his happy-ever-after only lasted several months. After Lucius's treacherous secret mission was exposed, the Royal Consort fell from grace, lost his husband's love and respect, and was imprisoned in the Northern Tower for a year. Everyone in the court was speculating when King Dorian would divorce Lucius and execute him. And just when Lucius thought things couldn't have gone worse than this, fate mocked him once more. One day, Lucius woke up and found himself branded as a human slave and trapped in the worst situation. Once lost all his privileges, he witnessed the true horror and cruelty of a world in which humans were dominated and used as livestock. With the help of a friend, Lucius managed to avoid more severe violations and eventually escaped from Eternia and headed home, however, as someone who was "defiled" by the vampires, he found no welcome, consolation, or even safety back home, either. Would he ever see Dorian again? Would Dorian ever forgive him for his betrayal? And would love find a way in all the hatred, pain and blood of another looming war between humanity and vampires? ******** This is the sequel to The Vampire Prince's Toxic Consort. You can find it in my profile. However, this book can also be read as stand-alone. Happy Ending eventually, updates every Saturday and Wednesday (by Pacific time).

Being born with a golden spoon in her mouth, Valeria has been accustomed to having people at her feet. When certain events intervene with her trust in her family, Valeria begins to notice things the press failed to. Illusions. Would Valeria be able to push past the truth that her family was feeding her or will she herself take down anyone who gets in her way? -------------------------- This is book 1 in the SERPENTS' series. This book contains extreme themes that may not be suitable for specific audiences, I've warned you. The love interest is violent, and the stereotypical Made Man, meaning this book will have non-consensual relationships, where the male lead is quite literally the incarnation of the devil himself.

A Boy Named Jasper {Wattpad Featured Novel} by MidnightRose55
36 parts Complete
For with God nothing shall be impossible. (Luke 1:37) ~~~~~ Jasper is a screwed up kid, yet no one cares enough to find out why. Bruises hide his arms and alcohol stains the walls of his house, but he pushes forward because it's the only thing left for him to do. His days are spent in and out of the school psychologist's office, while his nights are spent in fear of his father. His guitar and the secluded spot by the train tracks where he likes to play are the only saving graces in the hell that is his life. No one disrupted this normal routine until Callie came. Callie is far from screwed up; she doesn't have family issues and doesn't understand the first thing about Jasper's world. Her house is filled with answered prayers and smiles of people who love each other. Her arms are clear and her head is full of optimism that Jasper doesn't buy for a second. She never second guessed her sunny disposition on life until she stumbled upon a boy and his guitar down by the train tracks. Callie and Jasper weren't supposed to cross paths. She wasn't supposed to care and he wasn't supposed to let her get under his skin, but then again opposites weren't supposed to attract either. Callie saw the good in him where most people thought there was none ; she was captivated by Jasper because he made her question everything she knew about the world. She thought it would be easy to teach him that there was still good left in the world, that there was more beyond all the bad he'd become accustomed to. She thought fixing him would be easy, but nothing worthwhile is ever easy and sometimes it takes more than one girl's overly optimistic persistence to pull a person out of the hell they've been living in; sometimes it takes faith and realizing that some things can't be done without it... ~~~~~ -Highest Ranking: #8 in spiritual, 10/25/17 ; #1 in Christianity, 2019 -Wattpad Featured Novel: 10/19/17

"The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the World, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God--children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." (John 1:9-14) What that first Easter might have been like. The climax of God's plan for humanity, from Palm Sunday to Peter's reinstatement. Main title and chapter titles are from songs that I used to capture the mood of the moment, as it were, and I would really encourage you to listen to them. They are: Main title: "Glory" by The City Harmonic 1. without a crown: "Baby Boy" by For King & Country 2. the taste of eternity is here on our lips: "Taste of Eternity" by Bellarive 3. let me see redemption win: "Worn" by Tenth Avenue North 4. i heard a voice from the other side singing, "hold fast, love lasts.": "Without You" by For King & Country 5. when you know it, once you know it, and you hold it--it's unforgettable: "To The Dreamers" by For King & Country 6. keep my head from going down: "Something To Believe In" by Parachute 7. i could use a fresh beginning, too: "Learning to Breathe" by Switchfoot (cover by @sugarcrystals, who is amazing and you should really check out her work. Both writing wise and cover wise. I literally gave her "thunder storm themed" and she came up with that. Because I am useless at giving hints.)
