As soon as the mountain fiasco occurred, Jaksier knew Geralt wouldn't return to him. There have been times when he's gotten on his nerves, gotten into trouble too many times, even accidentally kissed Geralt while intoxicated, and he doubted Geralt would forgive him for that, not to mention the time he captured Geralt and that witch he hated in bed together; breeding like beasts. Even though Jaskier knew he wasn't the most pleasant person to be around, being with Geralt sparked something in him he wasn't supposed to feel. But seeing Geralt's hatred in his eyes confirmed Jasker's assumptions, he was just an annoying human, right?

The inn stopped when a mountain of a man clad in black armor with two swords strapped to his back strode in the door. The minstrels screeched to a halt and everyone cut their chatter to stare. Jaskier went into full emergency mode, giving the musicians the stink eye as he said, "Continue, everyone! It is Belleteyn, after all! Don't miss the dance reels behind the inn, great fun!" He motioned to the servers and yelled, "Drinks on the house!" A raucous cheer went up as the inn slowly bustled back to life, but the stares followed the Witcher anyways. A Witcher. At his inn. Jaskier couldn't believe his luck. Most business owners didn't enjoy having Witchers around, but that always seemed like superstitious balderdash to him. Witchers were strong and brave and capable of putting down creatures that haunted the caves and swamps and killed innocents. It never made any sense to him to denigrate such courage. "If we are to use you as bait to lure our possessed Witcher here to Kaer Morhen, do you understand what that entails?" Jaskier nods, but he remains quiet. A slight tremor works its way into his right hand, and Yennefer smirks at its appearance. The sorceress scoffs faintly, and she approaches him. There is something in her violet eyes, like a spark that proceeds the wildfire it causes as she comes close, her voice growing low and sharp. "He will hunt you," Yennefer whispers, as though she is reciting some sort of spell, bewitching as she is sardonic, "You cannot hide from him. You cannot outrun him. You cannot overpower him." Jaskier swallows, but he does not waiver. Not even as Yennefer begins to circle him. Despite the tears in her dress and the dirt that clings to her form, she remains as entrancing as ever. It's as though she's a fever dream Jaskier can only spot from the corners of his eyes. Her words come to Jaskier like a mirage, a silhouette muddled in fog. The only solid sensation coming from her being the race her words bring to his heart. "You will be at the Witcher's mercy." That should scare Jaskier. But it doesn't.Concluida
