She caught him stealing, then let him go. She never knew why, nor did he. But that one moment of looking into her eyes, that long moment of seeing only her, that's what changed him. She was a ghost. To him, she was always a ghost. But now, really seeing her for the first time, really looking into those eyes that were so lively and awake, he realized something. She wasn't a ghost. She was real, and he didn't know how, why, or when she became that way.
