Mature
Aidan Summers thought he had the best job any young scientist would die for; working at a state-of-the-art laboratory and doing what he loved, while getting paid handsomely too. It seems too good to be true, and he soon realises he's right, especially when Aidan learns of the restricted area he is not allowed access to.

Things take a sudden turn in Aidan's life when the secret behind those locked doors is somehow connected to the unsolved case of his missing brother Gavin and even bigger secrets about his family that he had no clue about. Thrown in for good measure is the mysterious appearance of a beautiful woman with supernatural powers who claims to know him when he has never met her before. Can Aidan's life get any weirder? The answer is yes, and it's about to get a lot more dangerous too.

Mature rating for some gore and violence.

Book 1 in the Splintered Soul series.

One thing is certain. You can never escape it. DEATH. A five-letter word. But what if you could escape it. Well, Templar May is about to find a world where you have unlimited time. A place where your wildest dreams and biggest fears come to life. -----------_--------------- I know I am dreaming but I can not keep my eyes from the vibrant trees and amazing green that surrounds me. Heavy blankets of moss cover the trees in beautiful green layers. Clovers dominate the forest floor in thick bunched patches. My eyes gaze at the unfathomably tall pine trees that seem to touch the heavens. I know I am dreaming but I can feel the cold creep up my spine and my breath comes out in thick foggy clouds that reach for the heavens. My mind slips into a foggy haze that mirrors the fog blanketing the forest when I see it. At first, it is just a glimpse of black. Then I realize that this black is a thick mass of hair attached to a person. Whoever it is, their back is to me. From the stature and muscle tone, they appear male. Tan skin shines as a bright contrast against the various shades of green that blanket everything. A force pulls me in like a siren's call. Pinpricks manifest under my skin as a growing sense of danger fills my body. The magnetic force continues to draw me in as if I do not have any choice in the matter. Something deep inside my body, deep inside my very soul screams at me to run away and never return but, the siren's call continues. Tension tightens my muscles as an alarming desire within me registers. I want this. I do not know why but I want to know whoever this is. But as I come within yards of the stranger, my dream changes. I am outside of my body watching the color drain from my still body and blank eyes as my blood soaks the once bright green foliage on the forest floor. Editing later on

"You ungrateful bitch. I keep a roof over your head, and this is the thanks I get?" "You could have killed her," I retort, trying to muster up confidence that I don't possess. "What if she goes to the cops, Dad? That bruise on her face is enough to get you arrested and charged with assault." "What? You mean when she tripped over the mess you made in the kitchen?" His smile is so wicked that it chills me to my core. "She ain't going to the cops. Hell, she'll probably be back here tomorrow." "You're a bastard," I whisper, tears filling my eyes. "No wonder Mom left! She probably couldn't bear to spend another second with-" I'm pushed to the floor.
