Have you ever thought about how nighttime is actually the natural state of the universe, and the only reason we have daytime is because Earth just so happens to be facing a giant star illuminating it? This short story, modeled somewhat after the style of a myth/fable/folktale, deals with Darkness coping with the sudden arrival of Light and the change in her beloved Universe's perspective. This story is appropriate for all ages, and I personally find that it makes a lovely bedtime story on an anxious night. I hope you enjoy! Comments welcome. Have a delightful evening, everyone.

Darkstalker's face flashed through her mind: the face of a dragon she had yet to meet, but whose face came with a torrent of visions--joy and love and pain and horror, so mixed-up she couldn't untangle it, couldn't even breathe when she thought about it. -Legends: Darkstalker What would the world have been like if Darkstalker hadn't gotten started down his path of darkness? If he hadn't started doing secret spells? Or if Clearsight had just noticed a little faster than she did? Or if the future had just been a little easier to reach? This is the story of two dragons whose futures are entangled far too closely. This is the story of hope and hopelessness, and of how the future is something you can lose. This is a story of how happy endings can fall apart, and how life is never neat. Or easy. This is a story of how happy endings can fall apart, and how to put them back together again. All characters, except my OCs, and the world of Pyrhhia, belong to Tui T. Sutherland. ***USUALLY UPDATES EVERY FRIDAY***
