The times when magic was commonplace had been long forgotten. And even if rumours of the supernatural do surface from time to time, Marinette isn't one to believe controversies, even if her own life has a few rather peculiar aspects to it.
Adrien, on the other hand, is the controversy itself, powerful enough to destroy everything in his way if he chooses to do so. The only thing he wishes for, though, is for the soulmate he meets every night in his dreams to remember him upon waking up... something that might just come true after a rather unexpected visitor and an absurd demand from his father force Adrien to leave the life he knew behind in hopes of finding the one person that can help him regain control of his life.

Thank you for taking interest in this story. I'm very happy to finally be able to share it with all of you, and I hope you'll enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Before we start, I'd like to thank @ladyofthenoodle, @misscongenialityofmlb, and @mostlovedgirl for beta reading. Thank you, guys! This story wouldn't be the same without you, and I greatly appreciate not only your help with grammar but the support and motivation you've given me over the last few months.
Note that this story is rated M because, like in every good story, there is a final, epic battle that will contain certain aspects that might be upsetting to some, such as blood, bodily harm, and similar. I tried to keep the description as non-graphic as possible, but all the chapters containing such matters will contain a warning at the start of the chapter. You're welcome to skim over it or skip it. This, however, relates to only about 5-10% of the story and will take place closer to the end.
Happy reading and I hope to hear your thoughts in the comment section or on any of my social media.
Adrien Agreste is different. He was born with a curse. He could kill and destroy anything he touched. Ignored and misunderstood by his father, he believed he was a monster. After a tragic accident, Adrien fled deep into the woods where no one could ever find him. He was ashamed of himself and didn't want to harm anyone else.
Marinette Dupain-Cheng, however, had a very different life. Like Adrien, she had special powers. But she had the power of fortune and good luck.
When a mysterious villain with powers of his own comes after Marinette, fate puts these two together. She is very suspicious of Adrien and doesn't trust him at first. But eventually, she decides that he is the only one that can help her. Along the way, she makes the frightening discovery.
How will these two survive the rage of the villain that is on their tail, not to mention the pressure from normal society? Can they prove to be heroes for their city?
But how easy will that be for Marinette, whose partner is a notorious monster?
