Clutching skeletal hands pulled him down, water filled his lungs, and as the darkness edging into his vision threatened to swallow him whole, his last thought was of the future. A wish that he had had a chance to see the end of the Monster he'd signed his life over to. Even Kreacher couldn't save him now though. 

He drifted away, sinking deeper and deeper into the darkness of the lake. Consciousness left him and a death date stitched itself into the fabric of the Magically updating Black family tree.
