Maybe she was running. Maybe she didn't want to be known as The Girl Who Caused The Crash anymore. Maybe she did fall off the edge. Maybe the edge was closer then everyone thought. Maybe The Girl Who Caused The Crash knew where the edge was. Maybe she didn't stop.
Ashe was her name and stealing was her game. At least that's what her parents said whenever they ranted on and on about how she shouldn't take things. About no matter what her reasoning was the principal didn't deserve to have his laptop taped to his office ceiling in bits and pieces. About how her friends weren't good enough for the intelligence that was locked away in her head. About how she didn't use her brain.
Ashe did use her brain, but not how they all expected her to.
Point is, The Girl Who Caused The Crash was running.

The clash of Ms perfect and Mr. lazy genius
The world expected her to be perfect. She was the eldest, the responsible one, the overachiever who always had the answers. But beneath the polished grades and the forced smiles was a girl who barely held herself together. A girl with too many expectations crushing her chest, with anger simmering just beneath the surface, with a loneliness that no one ever noticed. Her mother barely acknowledged her existence. Her father, from miles away, drowned her in concern she didn't know how to handle. And in between, she was left to figure everything out on her own. At school, she was untouchable-the top student, the girl who never failed, the one who always had her hand raised first. People admired her, envied her, but none of them really knew her. Not the way she knew them. She had a habit of reading people, of dissecting their words, their actions, their lies. It was easier that way-keeping them at arm's length, never letting anyone too close. And then there was him. The boy who was just as smart, just as untouchable. The one who walked the halls like he owned them, like the world bent to his control. Cold, calculating, always five steps ahead. The boy who hated losing. And so did she. That was the problem. This was a story that I had in my works for so long. I posted this story back in 2014 and then in 2015 I had taken it down. I frowned, thrown off "Do i...remember?" "Do you remember..." she starts but her voice falters. She glances down at the sand, biting her lip debating whether to even continue. She then takes a shaky breath and finally looks up. Eyes locking with mine " do you even remember how you got it?" Her question hits me like a slap. I open my mouth, then close it, my brows furrowing as I force my brain to rewind. How did I get it? Nothing. Not a single clear memory. She steps closer, her voice trembling, but the edge of anger sharpening her words. "Or when? Or where? Or for what reason? Or what it even means?!" I flinch at her tone, but I can't answer her. I try. God, I try.. I look down at the sand beneath my feet, forcing myself to dig through every memory, every hazy night out, every stupid decision I might've made-but nothing. Not a single moment of how I got it surfaced. I let out a frustrated breath and rake a hand through my hair, feeling the panic rise like bile in my throat. When I finally lift my head to speak, Ashley's already staring at me, and I can tell-she knows my answer before I say a word. The corner of his mouth tilts upward slightly. I smile again. A smile!? A tiny one, but still. "Hm. So I got you to smile, that's progress, yeah? Can I get your name now?" I offer happily. He looks up from his book, raising his eyebrows. I just stare for a moment. He has nice eyes. Pretty brown chocolate orbs. They remind me so much of....... "Teddy." He shakes his head immediately, frowning. "What, why not? You remind me of my old teddy bear. He was a good listener and he didn't talk much..... just like you." I say softly, tilting my head. He continues to shake his head. I fold my arms, leaning back in my seat. "Yeah, it's definitely sticking. Teddy.....It has a nice ring to it, yeah?" He sighs, the first sound I have ever heard him make. "No." . . . *Jordan* Teddy!? Seriously!? She gave me a fucking NICKNAME!? What the hell does this girl want!?
