After the fire, the Malraux girls hadn't returned to Beacon Hills on the thought that every last bit of their family had died. The girls were lucky enough to leave without any injuries on the outside but leaving the house whilst it was burning down felt like their whole world was crumbling as well.

Six years later, the girls returned on the rumour that a Hale was alive. Somebody was alive & after being alone for so long they needed hope somebody was alive.
What they didn't know is that they were going to be thrown into a lot more when returning home.
