انقلاب مشروطه ايران طی ده‌ها سال از طرف بسياری از مورخين و از جوانب گوناگون بررسی شده و ما را ‏قصد آن نيست که به اين واقعه بزرگ برگرديم و تاريخ آن را به طور همه‌جانبه از نو بررسی کنيم. جنبش ‏انقلابی ما به چنين کاری نياز فوری ندارد و «مردم» نمی‌تواند و نبايد به آن بپردازد. اما نگاهی گذرا به يکی ‏و فقط يکی از جوانب جنبش مشروطه، يعنی نقش سوسيال دمکراسی در اين جنبش به دلايل فراوانی ‏سودمند است و فوريت دارد، از جمله بايد به چند دليل اساسی زير توجه داشت:‏
