Revenge Will Be the Death of Me [NANOWRIMO 2021]

My NaNoWriMo Project for 2021

Willow had one goal; to graduate from the magic academy at the top of her class, and study at the most prestigious university amongst some of the best mages to ever walk the planet. However, life seems to want her to navigate romance and friendship alongside that - as well as, you know, saving the world from a vengeful, immortal mage who wants nothing more than to have absolute control over the world's population.

DRAFT EXCERPT:
As she was about to open the next article, a bag was dropped onto the table. A girl with long blonde hair and bright green eyes sat down across from her. She barely spared a glance at the reports before making eye contact with Willow.
"Don't you think its strange that all these reports are accessible to the students?" She rested her head against her fist, looking all the apathetic student she presented herself as when she enrolled.
Willow waited a moment before responding with a smirk. "Maybe, but it gives me information. Plus, I'd like to have my grade A able to be seen by everyone else."
The other girl's eyes narrowed a bit. "Cocky, aren't you?"
"I'd call it confidence; there's nothing wrong with that," Willow retorted.
Willow had never bothered to learn any of her peer's names, except Charlotte's. In response, the blonde girl hummed before finally looking at the pile of reports. "Did you find anything useful, at least?"
Pushing the pile towards the girl, Willow stood up. "Why don't you find out for yourself?"
"What -" The rest of Charlotte's indignant yell was drowned out by the sounds of other students as Willow stepped out into the hall. Moments later, the bell ringed out.
