Everyone dies. That's just the way the world works. But Elena Morvic grew up believing in her own immortality. She understood what it meant to die, had been to more than her fair share of funerals, but still knew that death would evade her. It was frightening, but far less so than the idea of dying without any clue of what happens after.
She knew since she could speak. Her mother cleverly disguised it between the lines of bedtime stories until she was ten. But lately, things have been feeling off.
