He turned to me and smiled at me gratefully. My smile widened and I hugged him. This time the hug was not a consoling hug, but a hug of pure bliss, and I felt butterflies in my stomach for the first time in years. And at that moment was when I realized something.

I fell for Shang-Chi Xu.

"Don't forget, no matter where you are, or what happens, you are NEVER alone. Because I will always be with you, no matter what" I said softly, making him a promise that I know will only be broken by death.

I shook my head after my flashback, wiped my tears away, and went back inside to everyone else, wanting to forget the time I fell for the man I never thought would ever hurt me.

A/N: Hi! this story takes place after the battle in the movie, and the flashback is when Shang was about 19, he went to America first then met Athena. also, I don't own any characters except for Athena, but I do own most of the plot.
