After his parents' divorce, Charlie Florence began to view love as nothing but an annoyance. He does not care for it, wants no part in it, and believes the world much better off without it.
However, things change when his teacher asks him to deliver printouts to Alice Parkinson, a classmate of his who has been absent from school for over a month due to her worsening health condition.
