"Where There Is Love, There Is Pain" "Can love happen twice with the same person?" Letting go of someone you love is never easy, and the scars left behind can be deep. .....................🩵 she asked, "What's special today?" "Our 4-year anniversary," I said, my voice gentle, as if saying it aloud would remind her of the love we shared. Oh, I forgot," she muttered, Will you be my girlfriend again, my moon? Will you marry me and make me the happiest man alive? I want to spend my life with you, to have children, to grow old together. Will you be my wife?" Silence. Her tears fell freely now, but they weren't tears of happiness. Her face was pale, her body trembling. I stood up, panic rising in my chest. "What's wrong?" "I don't want to be your lover anymore. I'm scared of becoming your wife. I don't want to bring a child into a world where they'll suffer. She sat looking at the big mirror blushing and thinking about her groom, she didn't even know his name. She eagerly waited for him to come and take her with him to his home, to their home. She was thinking what he would say, what his voice sounded like, what he would call her and how would she react to his actions. The things which she had never imagined in her life about marriage, home, romance, relationship etc., she was thinking about it all today. She hears the door open and she closes her eyes, her head bowed down, cheeks blushed while her chest heaved up and down due to heavy breathing. She hears a voice talking to her from a bit far. She had her back to him. "Hi, Thanks a lot. If you hadn't come, then I would have been on the streets. You really did a good job. The director was impressed with your improvisation though the role was small." She was confused, what is her groom speaking about. She opens her eyes and turns around to see him. Her face falls, it was not her husband. He hands an envelope to her and thanks her before he leaves. She takes the envelope still confused. She thinks - Oh! This must be a wedding gift from his friend. But what was he speaking about, I couldn't understand anything ... Marriage was not on her list but when it happened, it happened in a strange way.
