Cinderella- Fairytale Retold

Ash grew up in Rook Hill, a countryside village which was content to be nothing more than a village, with her mother Evangeline who had been touched with the slightest of magic, and her father William who was a merchant in the Royal City.

When her mother died at midsummer, Ash finds her world being broken piece by piece as her father removes every trace of her mother and brings home a stranger who is supposed to be a substitute for her mother.

After her father's death, Ash finds herself being uprooted from Rook Hill by her stepmother and stepsisters and carried away to the Royal City.
Royal City is nothing like Rook Hill, where the Wood had been friendlier to her. But so had been the people.

In a city full of people who either dislike or pity her, would Ash be able to find true love?
