Eating Glass

Will awoke with violence, as if sleeping had become dangerous. His sheets had been tossed aside, and his shirt was soaked through. Beneath him, the mattress was damp with sweat. It wasn't until he wiped a line of drool from his mouth that he realized his cellphone was ringing.

"Graham," he managed without looking at the ID. His dogs swarmed around him as he sat up.

"Will, are you all right?"

Will looked at his bedside clock. "Why are you calling me at six in the morning, Dr. Lecter?"
