Staying in the Philippines does not only meant she needs to learn the native language standardized form 'tagalog' or the terms 'kuya' and 'ate', but also the adjustments of perspective and perceptions in culture and in love.

For example, Mahingga, the name of the of the island where the story starts, means "rest" in Tagalog. I wanted to the story to be funny and adventurous with a sense of wonder.
