When Chinese-Canadian immigrant Henry Xing wanders into a bar one night, his life changes forever, There, he meets Elouise Anderson, an independent woman with a sing-song voice who immediately takes a liking to him.
On the inside, their relationship is perfect. But, those on the outside can't help but notice oceans of difference between them. Elouise's closest friend Douglas is the first to point out all the things that could make their relationship fail, and Henry's friend George is never far behind. Besides, Henry is needed back home in ten months for his own wedding- once his Ma finds him a bride.
When her sister gets married, Elouise is financially forced to find a new home, and Henry quickly volunteers. As she settles into her new life in Chinatown, Douglas looks for any way to uproot her life, trying not to expose his truest intentions- he wants Elouise for himself.
As Canadian legislation and Douglas's meddling draws them closer apart, Elouise and Henry will have to confront their own actions and come to terms with what they've done.

To all readers old and new, this story will be soon taken down and re-written. Thanks for all the support. As soon as it is re-written, I will be sure to repost the chapters. Follow me for more information. Abigail Jenkins is a young African woman from Missouri in the early 1890's. She's caught wind of the Oklahoma Land Rush and now she's set her mind on getting a chunk of land for herself. She's tired of the high minded white people from her old town and she wants to take charge of her own life. She is well aware of all the risks she may face by going alone into unknown territory, but she's willing to take that chance to have a new start on life. Derek Greyson, on the other hand, is a man simply wanting a change in scenery. After his parents died, he'd been taking care of his little sister. But now that she's married, he's turned his attention away from his home in Texas, and to the Land Rush in Oklahoma. He finds himself in the dust ridden land with thousands of others, greedy for a piece of the land. What he didn't expect, however, was to meet a lively little African woman with a sharp tongue, deep chocolate eyes and a mountain load of prejudices against white men due to the murder of her little sister. What will he do when he finds himself falling for her, along with all of her emotional demons? And for Abigail, what will she do when the stranger with icy blue eyes and a charming smile decides to break all social norms just to be with her?

Kasi Williams, a young black woman from Detroit, has always found solace in the quiet strength of her independence. After the tragic loss of her parents in a devastating car accident when she was just a child, she and her older brother Jason clung to each other, building a life from the fragments of their shattered world. But when Jason is killed in a police shooting ruled an "accident," Kasi's heart is left in ruins. Seeking escape from the pain, she leaves everything behind and retreats to a serene, distant village in China, where the rolling hills and tranquil rivers offer a fragile promise of peace. There, she meets Tang Wei Long (唐伟龙), a man whose name echoes wealth and prosperity, but whose life is shrouded in the cold isolation of his family's industrial empire. The Tangs, owners of a vast network of electronics factories in the bustling industrial hub of Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, are known for their power and influence. Yet, Wei Long is drawn to Kasi not for her knowledge of his wealth, but for her authenticity-a rare gem in a world of superficial admiration. When Wei Long first hears Kasi singing to a group of children, her voice carried a haunting beauty that stirs something deep within him. But as he tries to break through the walls she has built around her heart, he realizes that love may be the one thing his fortune cannot buy. Will Wei Long's relentless pursuit of Kasi's heart be enough to mend the fractures of her past? Or will the weight of their differences keep them forever apart? Dive into this emotionally charged journey and discover if love can bloom where the world least expects it. NOTE: I will be updating this story every Saturday and Sunday.
