"Don't you see...you can't save someone like me. You may think you can because you love me, but really I'm too far gone. My soul is dead and once it's gone it's never coming back."
_______________________________________________________________

Kat Joyce was an average teenager enjoying life with her best friend Ryder Armstrong glued to her hip. But when Ryder comes back from jail unannounced at her doorstep, she doesn't know what to do. Ryder's released after years of being behind bars for a crime she committed and has no where else to stay.

But Kat still thinks she's the sweet girl she once knew before Juvy. Ryder's a different girl. She has scars on her body as well as her soul and she may never be able to be alright again. Ryder wants to run. She's tough and doesn't want anyone, especially Kat, getting close again.

Because there is nothing wrong with being a little different. No matter what size, gender, or age you are you're beautiful. Because it's never actually you that's ugly...it's society.

Unless your a criminal.

Unfortunately, Kat's room is the only one left, but she offers to share. When the group decides to take part in a beach volleyball summer tournament, Kat comes face to face with the one person she was trying to forget. her ex, Oliver Green. He had clearly moved on already, actually he had moved on months ago, when they were still together. Anna catches the whole thing and wants to help. Only, her version of helping was to plant a kiss on Kat's lips. It ignited something inside Oliver because the guy was clearly jealous. Anna offers to continue the act and make Oliver see what he's missing out on. When she discovers that not only is Oliver part of the volleyball team, but that his group of friends rented the same house next to theirs, she realizes she has to step up her game with Anna. "You should care, Dylan. You would still be living in the back of a car, stealing from Seven Eleven! Is that what you want?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The "Four Musketeers." That's what they called them. If they weren't all together they were two on two. And they give zero fucks about life. The Adopted one The Bad boy The Player The Best friend Dylan is like most troubled girls. She doesn't care about her grades, she skips school, hangs with the wrong crowds, and hates her parents. But of course there's a reason for all of this. Dylan is adopted. Dylan has always struggled with being adopted and she tends to fight everything in life. Many bad memories cause her to be the way she is. She desperately wants to forget her past, including some bad things she experienced, but the memories stay stuck in her mind. Dylan has three best friends who help her get by. The only three people she 100% trust and doesn't like to. They all have their own problems and lies they tell, but they help each other through it all. Especially her boyfriend Vince, who would do absolutely anything for her. He would die a thousand times over before anyone hurt Dylan. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Dylan's not just my whole life, she makes my life whole. Some days she's the only reason I get out of bed. Without her in my life there is no point in living. She's like the air I breathe. Without her I can't live. She's my best friend and I will love her to the day I die." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This summer Dylan gets the opportunity to do what every guidance counselor has claimed she's always wanted to do . . . split up her family. Will she realize splitting up her family won't help anything? Or will she just not care? After all she was abandoned once.
