"Who are you going to call when you need help next time, Rory?" His voice was low. If anyone else had used that kind of tone with me I would have thought it was a threat.
My jaw tensed. Even though I knew him, even though I trusted him, the next words were hard to get out. "The team."
His eyes were piercing, the silence that followed louder than anything else. He was waiting for something and I floundered for an answer.
"My captain," I finally forced out, searching his eyes. "You."
