When George was eight, his best friend was Dream, they'd go on adventures together, climb up hills and laugh together. Dream liked to cause trouble, he was always getting George told off and he always just seemed to disappear whenever consequences began to set in for their actions. George's mother told him repeatedly that Dream was obviously imaginary, a ruse George had made up to get out of trouble. So when Dream stopped appearing, George eventually believed her.

That was until he met Clay Edwards under a bus stop in the pouring rain after a nasty breakup.
