Each year at the end of November, all of Alaska's inhabitants are imposed to bid their farewells to the sun. It is acknowledged as the annual Thirty Days of Night. The land is submerged in a complete darkness, plunged into a treacherous month-long night where nightmares become reality. River is a lone wolf. After being exiled from her birth pack, she finds herself grounded in a nasty situation. The new-found twilight begins to take it's toll as she's left stranded in obscurity, blind and vulnerable while predators lurk behind the trees. She's scrawny and weak, born the runt and made a scapegoat. With no brute strength or skill, River is armed with nothing but hatred and violence from her yore. Yet she is determined to outlive this darkness, willing to take her chances to triumph. She's going to survive. A pride of Snow Leopards and a Pack of Wolves get together for their mutual protection as they cross the Land Bridge to North America. Others, not liking the sharing and where it eventually leads, causes the Pack to pull back from the outside world and get left behind, till a patrol from Wild Valley Pack finds them...

Evie a 19 year old lone rouge she-wolf is content with her life. She moves from place to place teasing the packs, people and rouges. The last thing she wants is a mate but while getting in some trouble with some rouges she meats the one. But her past comes back to hunt her. Will she get a happily ever after or will her past consume her.

And, because of this, man alone suffers a paralyzing fear that no other creature endures. A fear of time running out.

Animals long ago respected one another. Were equal and fair to one another. Even humans, when they were like us. Creatures hunted and built shelter for survival, and nothing else. Many generations past, and humans have evolved with greed. They now refer to themselves as superior, and break the ancient rules. Only kill to survive. Young Snow's pack has become one of the many targets, whereas members were killed every once and a while. Now, Snow's pack was forced to be always on the move, to avoid such an atrocity. Finding enough food during winter was a miracle, but finding a safe home would be a dream.

When the White Wolf of the Forest rescues a new born wolf pup from sharing the same fate as her family, she takes it off to her secret den. However, that is not the end of the story. Demi grows and grows, making friends (and enemies) along the way; but something dark shadows her world. With threats coming from every direction and winter being longer than ever before, can Demi battle the odds and save herself from the evil as well as her birth Pack?
