Unknown, access, control, power. If you think further, a quite meaningful combination of words.

Who are we? Why is it happening this way?
We are a civilization on planet earth in earlier stages of development.
One question that is asked is whether how far it will purely last.
To this, the question of trust is connected. Believing in values that we stand for and regulations which apply to everyone.

Taking you back in time..
Something has happened.
The Definition of power changed
in the glance of an eyeblink.
Algorithms are a part of everything meanwhile.
How does humankind react, if..? What actually, happens?

TROIKA - Countryhumans USSR x America by Arrin99423
12 parts Ongoing Mature
The world is electrified. Everything runs on electricity, from lighting to transport, life support to social media. Oblivion. Then, grid is down. And the world turns dark. And doesn't turn back on. America, the most forward thinking and innovative Western idealist, has answers. Her feminist values push her neck to neck with her male peers. She is one of the first to figure out that the grid will eventually fail, because of the vein of fossil fuel instability, trying to raise the alarm. When the grid does fail, she doesn't even get the satisfaction to say 'I told you so' before she is forced to collaborate in the TROIKA - a trio of biologist, engineer, and geophysicist that must find an immediate and then long-term solution to power the earth. Oh, and she has no choice. USSR, a cynic planner and injured war veteran, has questions. Torn between his eastern roots and western intelligence, he struggles to fit in, curb his aggression, and deal with personal loss. Instead of notifying the world of the impending grid failure, he builds a vast arsenal nuclear plants to power his land against the rules, and when the grid falls, his lights and machines keep running. When finally his arrest occurs, he finds himself in a unique situation, offered a position in the TROIKA - but if he declines, then a life of darkness behind bars awaits him. The goal of the TROIKA is simple: Be quick, be correct, be ready. It doesn't take long for USSR and America to loathe each other on principle, each with their own goals and ideals, clashing on everything from fashion to economics. Can they push away their pride and save the world, maybe even themselves? Or will their bitterness engulf everyone in thick, oily darkness forever? A single choice will ultimately decide their fate. TROIKA: The Future is Nuclear. The Future is Unclear. NOT for sensitive readers, please do not read if you cannot handle violence, loss, terminate disease or mature content - 16+ Thanks!
We Eukaryotes by duncmacphun

About 1.5 billion years ago, the single-celled eukaryotes became the common ancestors of all multicellular plants, animals, and fungi. Fish evolved a primitive lung sac and four limbs, 350 million years ago, so they could crawl between fresh water swamps. About 250 million years ago, the ancestors of all mammals, were tiny nocturnal insectivores and, about 6 million years ago, we began walking on two legs. The most recent Ice Age (2.6 million to 12,000 years ago), severely reduced rainfall in Africa, where Homo habilis was evolving. In Homo erectus (1.9 to 0.5 million years ago), cranial capacity increased to between 850 and 1000 cm3 implying the phenomenal increase of 125,000 more neurons with each generation. Between 70 and 50 thousand years ago, Homo sapiens spread out from east Africa. Then, about 20,000 years ago, evolution made a sharp change in direction. After 250 million years, we ceased to be hunter gatherers. The Neolithic Revolution meant we could never go back. WHO THE HELL ARE WE? is a series of short books and videos describing the evolution of civilization. Almost everyone on the planet is five times wealthier than their ancestors only 50 years ago. This astonishing phenomenon has also improved health, education, and longevity. The cause; an explosive growth in ideas and productivity. It began when we learned to control fire, evolved articulate speech and stumbled onto the way to create infinite wealth; free trade. The discovery of agriculture made us richer but we also learned how to destroy wealth. Great civilization grew up but then disappeared leaving only incredible ruins and ideas. Later books detail some of the ideas and developments that increased the average life span from about 40 years to more than 80 and the average world income from less than $3 to more than $33 per person per day (and to $140 per day in some countries).

The year is two- thousand, twenty-seven. The USA has collapsed. America is dead. The Cabinet of States has arisen from its ashes. Their very own Countryhuman, Cabi, in charge. Unbeknownst to the new government, a plot has been brewing in the shadows. A plot that is determined to wipe them off the face of the earth. It is something so dangerous, so ludicrous, that only a madman would consider going through with it. But that was exactly what he was; a madman. Russia, driven to grief over America's loss, makes a plan to bring him back. However, Cabi has her own plan that she is willing to enact. One that could rid the competition. One that could secure her place as leader. One that she is so ambitious, so desperate to uphold, that it may drive the world to its breaking point. Violence is coming. Terror is culminating. But hope is reviving. •-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-• Welcome to Darkness of Ours. This is a continuation from a previous book called Light of Mine. I highly recommend that you read Light of Mine before starting this, but if you find that too long, too cringy, or too much of something else, there is an informational chapter at the beginning of this book. Read that. Have a great day/night/morning/evening/noon/midnight/any time! -Amaura •-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-• Started: 6-10-21 (June 10th) Ended: 9-19-21 (September 19th) -------------
