I'm Not My Father's Daughter: Carl Grimes Fanfiction by BrittWillis19
49 parts Complete
Carl Grimes's life was great. He had both parents, a ton of friends, and a great role model. His dad was a sheriff at the King's County Police Department, while his mom was a stay at home mother. His role model just so happened to be his dad's best friend and partner at the station, Shane Walsh. Carl was content with his life. What more could he want? Emily Walsh was a good girl. She would anything to please her mother, who was never around. Straight A's, teacher's pet, the quiet student who never got in trouble, etc. Though she didn't have friends, she excelled in school. Home life was quite different. Her mother was an EMT for the city of Atlanta and worked long hours, leaving Emily home alone with her studies and Ms. Ella, her nanny. Emily's father was a sore subject that her mother would never speak of. As far as Emily knew, her father didn't know she existed, but that would change... By fate, Carl and Emily meet, but only by a tragedy. Their lives are shaken up and rearranged. Not only does their first impression and encounter suck, but so does their future. As time goes on, they see each other as best friends and are inseparable, but will that change when the dead start walking? All rights go to Robert Kirkman and AMC. The only character I own is Emily and my added characters. I do not own The Walking Dead or any of their characters. #1 shanewalsh: May 10, 2018 #1 carlgrimesfanfiction: February 22, 2019 #2 rickgrimes: October 13, 2019 #1 carl: April 10, 2020 Started: October 1, 2017. Rick Grimes was always there for Leona when she needed him so, upon hearing about his injuries resulting from a high-speed chase, she dropped everything to visit him in the hospital. Nothing else mattered - not her happiness, and certainly not her future as an artist states away. Her brother and his small family were the only people she had left in her life, and she'd be damned if she let something as trivial as the dead starting to rise stop her from keeping them safe. Daryl Dixon spent much of his life on his own, surviving off the good graces of strangers and stealing what he needed to survive until he could find odd jobs in different towns. His older brother, Merle had been a near-constant companion as he grew older, only left on his own when his brother found a woman he liked and ran off for a week or two. When the dead started to rise, he spent no time finding his brother, ditching the lady Merle had spent the past few days with, and taking off. Finding one another was nothing more than chance, and gaining one another's trust over time was no easy feat, but as it grows clearer that not just anyone can be trusted, Leona and Daryl find themselves staying together. For survival.
