"This isn't some chanced meeting. I didn't try and corner you last night to get you to talk to me. This was all some elaborate scheme set up by a kid genius who just-" she thought of what Dustin told her last night. "-who just wants his two best friends to be... friends again."

He scoffed. "Friends?" He turned away from her and rubbed his hands over his face. "Is that what we were?" He asked into his hands. The question was muddied and mumbled, but she understood it.

"No," she admitted lowly. She watched him face away from her and felt him slipping even further from her. "But I didn't come here in hopes of us jumping back into a relationship. I didn't expect some happily ever after from this one talk. I just... I just wanted to talk." She stepped around the table toward him. "I miss talking to you. I... I don't know if I have any right to say that because I was the one who broke up with you, but... I do. I miss it so much."
