Parker Brock, younger sister of Eddie Brock, has been a shield agent out of San Francisco for over a decade.  After an accident, Parker's brother Eddie turns to Venom to heal her.  The symbiote inside of her reacts to exposure she had received in the field, creating a different sybmiote entirely - Anti-Venom.  Parker gained not only the typical symbiote abilities such as genetic memory, super strength, camouflage, web casting abilities and spider sense, but additional powers of healing as well as immunity to fire and heat.  

When Parker is given the opportunity to transfer to the New York field office to work in the background for the Avengers and Agent Hill, she jumps at the opportunity.  Still wanting to do good - and to placate her symbiote - Parker also ventures out at night to do what she can to help the neighborhood.  Her activities get her on Shield's radar and particularly catch the attention of a certain Russian ex-assassin Avenger.
