50 years after the 'carnage', 50 factions participate in The Royale all competing for the Top 8 title and the engineers that come with it. Faction 53 and their leader Kusanagi cannot stand Syla and her rowdy faction, Projeckt S who only really competes to win back her lover every year, Casca though her demeanor would tell a different story. Kusanagi vows this year will be the year of Sylas demise. Kusanagi hopes that the other few winners Chups and the twins don't back out last minute.   But will any of this matter when several men, not apart of any faction appear seemingly out of nowhere and harnessing a technology no one can detect?
